Who We Are

The D1 Life Foundation was established in loving memory of Dylan Pegues, shortly after his death in June of 2022. The foundation’s motto to “Live a D1 Life” reflects our desire to inspire others to raise their level of character, leadership and love towards others while also leading others to Christ. The objective of the foundation is to provide scholarship opportunities to seniors preparing for college. It will also send our youth to church conferences, soccer camps, photography seminars and much more.

Our mission is to empower people to live life at the highest level of character through Christ. Providing unwavering principles that will raise the expectation of behavior towards others, and create winners in life.

A D1 athlete must possess certain physical attributes and athletic ability to qualify to compete at that elite level. Living a “D1 Life” requires no talent and can be demonstrated by individuals from all walks of life. As long as you have the ability to set aside fear and insecurities and allow Jesus to lead the way, you can successfully lead a “D1 Life” and consequently lead others to do the same.

  • Gary Pegues and Family

    Gary Pegues

I have the honor and privilege of being Dylan's father. I was so blessed to have shared 17 years of his amazing life with his mother, Debbie, and sister, Lexie. It's difficult to put into words how much we miss him and how much he meant to our daily being, but easy to share how much he was loved and how he positively affected others around him. As his father, I'm humbled at what my son taught me at such a young age. I'm so grateful to our God that he entrusted Debbie and I to be the parents of this incredible young man. I will forever take on the mission of helping others live an elite life of leadership in the eyes of Jesus, and build up our youth to change the world...one person at a time.

  • Chintana Boswell

    Chintana Boswell

HI, I’m Chintana Boswell. I am the proud wife to Ryan Boswell, loving mother to Dalton, CrimsynRyan, Emarie & Blakely, and loving aunt to Dylan Pegues. I started my professional career as a personal banker for the Bank of Bonifay. In 2009, I retired from the banking industry to focus on raising a family together with Ryan. My desire to remain active lead me to the Destin Elementary PTO. I have served two separate times with a total of 10 years as an active Board Member, President for 5, and the active President of the PTO for the last three years. Destin Elementary PTO helps raise approximately $150k each year to help provide for the student enrichment and new technologies at the school. I could not be more proud to be Dylan’s aunt. Some of my favorite memories included a competitive family game of Spoons at the dining room table, and kids vs the parents backyard volleyball games. I am extremely excited to serve the D1 Life Foundation in Dylan’s honor, and to help carry on his legacy of living a D1 Life.
